A/B testing is a simple way to compare two versions of a page, ad, email, or element to see which one performs better against a goal. The point is not to chase novelty but to reduce guesswork. Good A/B tests isolate one meaningful change at a time: a headline, hero image, button text, layout of a form, or pricing display. Traffic should be randomly split, devices considered, and external factors like seasonality or promo periods kept consistent. It helps to define success, sample size, and test duration before launching. Some teams run an A/A test first to ensure their setup isn’t biased.
When a winner emerges, ship it and keep learning. Not every test will move the needle, and that’s normal.
