Domain Authority (DA) is a metric created by Moz to predict how well a website will rank in search engine results. Scored from 1 to 100, it reflects the strength of a site’s backlink profile, content quality, and overall trustworthiness. While not an official Google metric, DA has become an industry standard for benchmarking SEO competitiveness.

A high Domain Authority signals that a site is recognized by others through backlinks, consistent traffic, and relevant content. However, it’s a relative metric — a DA of 50 might be strong in a niche market but weak in a highly competitive one.

Improving DA requires patience and consistency. Quality backlinks, optimized technical performance, and original, authoritative content are the main levers. Spammy link tactics may temporarily boost scores but can harm long-term credibility.

Domain Authority isn’t a goal in itself but a reflection of overall SEO health. The true objective remains the same: to create content so valuable that other reputable sites naturally link to it.
